This restaurant-style basil chicken brings bold Asian flavors to your weeknight table in under 30 minutes. Juicy chicken meets aromatic garlic, ginger, and fresh basil in a savory soy-hoisin sauce.

Steps

  1. Mix together dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, chili flakes, and a splash of water to make the sauce
  2. Heat oil in a wok or large pan over high heat
  3. Add chicken and stir-fry until cooked through and lightly browned
  4. Add chopped ginger and garlic, stir-fry until fragrant
  5. Add sliced onion, bell pepper, and red peppers, stir-fry for 2-3 minutes
  6. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together
  7. Add fresh basil and toss until wilted
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve immediately
