Chickpea Curry (Chana Masala)

This quick and flavorful chana masala is your answer to a satisfying weeknight dinner. With aromatic spices and creamy yogurt, this chickpea curry delivers authentic Indian flavors in just 20 minutes.

Steps

  1. Soak chickpeas if using dried, or drain if using canned
  2. Finely chop onion and tomatoes
  3. In a bowl, mix yogurt with besan, chili powder, tikka masala powder, coriander powder, jeera powder, garam masala, and kasuri methi to make the marinade
  4. Heat oil in a pan and sauté chopped onions until golden
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and cook until fragrant
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until softened
  7. Add the yogurt-spice mixture and stir well
  8. Add chickpeas and mix to coat with the gravy
  9. Cook until chickpeas are heated through and gravy thickens, about 10-15 minutes
  10. Serve hot with flatbread and sliced onions
