Steps

  1. Heat oil or ghee in a pot over medium heat
  2. Add cinnamon and cloves and let them sizzle
  3. Add sliced onion and sauté until softened
  4. Add chopped ginger and garlic and cook until fragrant
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they break down
  6. Stir in green peas and chopped spinach
  7. Add black pepper, garam masala, and salt to taste

  11. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is cooked and water is absorbed
