Crispy Gobi Manchurian

Make restaurant-style Gobi Manchurian at home with this easy and flavorful recipe! Crispy fried cauliflower tossed in a spicy, tangy Manchurian sauce—perfect as a starter or evening snack.

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, rice flour, cornflour, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add water gradually to make a thick batter that coats the cauliflower florets.
  3. Dip cauliflower florets in the batter, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Heat oil for deep frying in a pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the battered cauliflower florets until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
  6. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a wok or large pan over medium-high heat.
  7. Add chopped garlic, ginger, and green chilies, and sauté until fragrant.
  8. Add diced onion and bell pepper, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  9. Add soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, and black pepper, and mix well.
  10. Add the cornflour-water mixture and stir until the sauce thickens.
  11. Toss in the fried cauliflower florets and coat them evenly with the sauce.
  12. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot.
